Megan and Micah Maternity | North Vancouver Photographer
Well last week I had the extreme privilege of doing a maternity session for one of the coolest couples I think I’ve ever met! Megan and Micah got married not that long ago in a small, intimate ceremony with their friends and family. We got to photograph that too.
We wanted to get a session in before their baby arrives some time in April. Or maybe May. 
The weather was horrid, but in keeping with rolling with what comes our way, we went ahead with it and trudged out to Cates Park in North Vancouver. I’m glad we did because man, we got some great shots!
On our way there, we spotted this old truck and both my assistant Christine and I said at the same time, “we have to use that truck!” So we did.
The truck was perfect and the clouds could not have been any sexier or moodier.
I could totally see this next shot being an album cover…
After we were done with the truck, we headed over to Cates Park. The rain had held off while we were using the truck, but by the very sexy dark clouds that were over us we knew the rain was coming. Sure enough, as soon as we got to the beach, it started. What to do, what to do….well what we do best- improvise! We stayed under cover for a bit, and used the fantastic reflected light from the water and sky.

The rain let up for a bit so we raced (Megan raced as quickly as she could lol) from under cover to get the concept shots I had been planning. Check out this earth mama. Pregnancy definitely agrees with her! Not only is she beautiful, but she is one cool mama to be.
I love this shot! We asked him to play and sing for the baby. They can hear us you know. Their baby is going to grow up in a house of music I think. All of Micah’s family is musical, either singing or playing an instrument.
We got a laugh out of Megan too.
Once we were done at the park, nicely wet and chilled, we headed back to their place to get some shots indoors. I will end this entry with this sweet shot.
Yes, they are expecting a little girl! I’m so excited for them! Micah and Megan I can’t wait till she arrives and I get to photograph her. Seriously, you can call me on your way home from the hospital and I will drop everything and run over to photograph that sweet newborn squishyness! Thanks for hanging out with me, even though the weather was terrible. I hope you had as much fun as I did! I will email your gallery password to you soon.
