Windy Day Adventure | West Vancouver Photographer
Yesterday we went to Ambleside beach in West Vancouver, and it was so windy that Wyatt almost got blown away.
We originally went to take advantage of the sun and wind to fly Ben’s kite, but unfortunately the wind was so strong it ripped the handle right out of his hands. Poor Ben. But at least we got a picture of it before it flew into a tree, where it is likely still stuck (if anyone feels so inclined to go to Ambleside Beach and rescue it for us that would be grand…you will need a ladder).

Once the kite was stuck in a tree and we realized we weren’t getting it out, we walked along the beach to watch the surfers and kite surfers. Yes it was that windy. Surfers are not a common site at Ambleside, so I took full advantage of that fact!
Leaning into the wind. Oh and the snow on the mountains? It’s April. Where was that snow two months ago when I actually wanted to go skiing? I’m ready to break out the flip flops and shorts now…but Living this close to the beach, with the mountains in the background is what I love so much about living in Vancouver.

You know the water is cold when they are wearing full wetsuits including a hood! That’s what I wear while scuba diving!

Cute story about this next photo. I took it and when Ben saw what I was doing he said, “I know what you’re doing, you’re trying to get the sign sharp and the water blurry.” LOL Love that they are picking things up from me. Maybe one day they can join the family bizness.

Those were some big waves. I was giddy from the picture taking heaven before me.

They like giving me “action shots”.

Benjamin had a lesson in leading lines. His favourite part of the picture was the random orange piece of rope.

I ask them to pose for me and what do I get? Them singing, “peanut butter jelly.” Sigh. Boys. My children are weird.

But it’s a good thing they are cute.

The beach so close to us is my very favourite thing about living in North Vancouver. It was a good day, but I owe my son a new kite. Unless we get his beautiful dragon kite back.
All shots were taken with my 50mm 1.8. <3 that lens so much.

Gosh, T! You are looking great in that photo
I love Ben’s comment about the sign. Wouldn’t it be cute if he grew to be as amazing a photographer as you are? Super cute!
