Orlando & Leandro | newborn photographer | Vancouver
This week I got the privilege of cuddling some new baby squishy goodness. Oh how I love newborns. Their grunts and squeaks and sighs and those unconscious smiles. Photographing babies is definitely one of my most favourite things. This family found me through Megan and Micah, past clients of mine after seeing their newborn photos and falling in love with them. I love my clients, they rock!
Here in Vancouver, we’ve had a pretty grim few weeks weather wise, with occasional sun, and a whole lot of rain. Tuesday the skies cleared enough for me to get some fantastic images with terrific window light at their home. We were even able to go outside to get some pictures of big brother, and to let him burn off some steam. I love being a baby and child photographer, and we seem to have some pretty cute ones here on the west coast. 
Without further ado, I present, Orlando. Isn’t he precious?
I love it when I capture these little smiles. Always makes me wonder what they are dreaming about. This was his mom’s favourite image of the ones she got to peek at on the back of my camera.
Look at the adorable kissy face! He has the best lips, I’m pretty sure he will grow up to be a heartbreaker, as will his handsome big brother.
I just loved his expression here. He was actually one of the most awake newborns that I have worked with as a newborn photographer. He was awake for the first half or so. He couldn’t miss anything after all. We finally got him to sleep and were able to get the beautiful sleeping baby pictures that everyone loves so much.
Big brother Leandro wasn’t sure about this whole stranger in his home photographing his baby brother, but although he was a little jealous, he also wasn’t too keen on getting his pictures taken either. At one point he asked me to take one of the wraps off of the baby because he didn’t like it. LOL.
Still not sure….
But he did warm up for some of them. He loves Buzz Lightyear and was very interested in telling me about him and showing me, “to infinity and beyond!”
Outside with his daddy to burn off some steam. We got a few pictures, but then he decided he was done and there was going to be anymore. LOL Being a children’s photographer certainly requires you to be patient, flexible, and able to adapt your plan. And adapt we did! He was an adorable little guy so I am glad we got some nice shots of him.
And I leave you with this gorgeous shot. Leandro didn’t want to be in the shot, but I love that I captured this moment. They are a loving family and obviously adore their kids. I really got a sense of a fun and good natured family. Thanks Reyna and Herb, for having me come and document this brief period in your new baby’s life and capturing some of Leandro’s spunk! As always it is an honour and privilege to be invited into a family’s home.

That one with the lil babe smiling, tucked away in a hat, is one of the most precious shots I’ve ever seen of a babe. Melted my heart immediately! Absolutely precious. Great work!
